does anyone know how to release and remove the auxiliary belt on a 53 plate 1.4 petrol, for sum reason its different to mine in the haynes maual

you probably got the wrong haynes manual as there's one for different years

Are you looking at the correct engine page... A 53 plate car could be either an 8v or 16v engine!
