Just to update, I managed a really simple fix on the indicator stalk, good enough to get through the MOT anyway!
All I did, was to put a weak-ish rubber band around the stalk, and hooked it over the top of comm 2000.
This put just enough tension on the stalk, to stop it flicking over to the left.
Seems to work quite well, and one of those stupid things that could last forever!

Strange but easy way to fix it :D,but this is not the right fix you know ;).
