When turning wheel to the right I get a high pitched noise, only to the right though, furthermore car wouldn't start after putting petrol in, but once I took the key out then put it back in it started, could this 2nd problem be the sign of coil pack going?

The sound when you turn the wheel, had it on a vaxhaul we were selling and it was because on the power steering system there was a leak and the vrring noise was the escaping oil and air within the system, wasnt really igh pitched though :/ check the power steering fluid level

The starting problem will probably be the immobiliser ring not detecting the key.

Yeah I had the same problem with the noise. There was a crack in my steering rack from the cold weather, that leeked all my fluid which caused the noise. The sooner you get it sorted the better otherwise you will have no power steering and every roundabout is alike a mini work out.
