I've had a rattling noise in the back of my car for a while now. It only seems to make it whilst going slowly over uneven roads.

Ive had 2 garages look at it, but neither could locate the probem.
One thought it was the fuel tank heat shield, which proved to be wrong.
The next garage suspected the rear track control arms, but isnt sure.
They seem to be very mobile. I have no idea if they're meant to move or not? At £300 to replace them, I don't fancy doing it unless I actually need to.

Next up, I took my car to peugeot today, and they said the droplinks often wear out and make a rattling noise in 180's, and is inexpensive to repair.
Does this seem familiar to anyone? I may have them looked at independantly ASAP.

There are no droplinks at the back...look at the exhaust hitting the lower torsion bar or the anti roll bar rattling in the axle tube.

Yes the plastic sleeve on the latch can have a groove worn into it. Just rotate the sleeve and the rattle disappears.

I love how the dealership for the car are the people who know the least.. That's great!

And Edward were you referring to the bootlid in that last post?

Thanks for the tips guys! I'll check it out. the bootlid seems secure enough when I checked (just wiggling by hand) but I'll give it a more thorough look.

Haha mine was fine for ages! The only rattle was from the interior light. It's only recently that I've been getting creaks and rattles from the back!

My last 1.4 206 was completely rattle-free!
