Bit of an update today...

First things first, I've got 2 106 Quiksilver which I'm in the middle of stripping so out of the Raptors I borrowed on a long term basis the nut covers, the nut covers have long shafts on them so the face of them sit out further than the normal nut cover meaning they can be seen.

Pictures of the fitted in the MAMs...plans are to have the faces of them sprayed in Velvet Purple to match the split bolts and also the lip tape.

Pictures of the front and rear wheels now that the spacers have been taken off...I may just be able to tuck a 8J wheel in the rear arches.

Leather side strips fitted and looking rather plush...

Also spent abit more time working on the engine cover...this time I was working on the HDi badge and smoothing it out.

After lot of filing, sanding, smoothing this is what the engine cover is looking line. All that needs doing now is the top two grooved lines and then just a matter of spraying up.

Also if you can see from the drivers door, it needs mopping. Everything that was sprayed up i.e. everything up to the b-pillar is being cut and mopped as soon as the car is fully rebuilt.

Currently being taught how to do it myself as I don't really want to be waiting around for the chap at the bodyshop to do it and it'll also cut down cost further.

Let me know what you think guys & girls =)

Cheers Bud =)

I know a few people weren't too keen on the project when I first started it, before info went down. It is definitely a marmite kind of project but keep your eyes peeled as it's a long way off from being finished and it's going to get better over the next couple of weeks.

Picked up the mirrors earlier and got them fitted up.

Close up...

Gutter strips have been rubbed back down as wasn't really feeling the velvet purple so going to be sprayed them in Moonstone Blue to match the car so they blend in. I'm also spraying up the SW and GT back in Velvet Purple so they stand out more. More updates tomorrow involving a hell of a lot of spraying up =)

Bit of an update...

First up, decided against the velvet purple gutter strips and sprayed them in moonstone blue. Reason being is I don't want too much of the detail colour.

Also got the nut covers sprayed up.

Also had my GT arches arrived and had to line one up just to see if it fitted onto the sports wings.

As you can see they do Very Happy Good luck to anyone who wants to copy this, you'll have to find a pair of GT arches and I don't think at £130 + vat each these are going to be bought brand new Smile

Get them sprayed up and stuck on and that'll be another thing done, another setup closer to finishing it.

Also got the gutter strips fitted...

Nut covers got finished off last night...

also started spraying up the GT arches so I can get them fitted on. Once they're fitted correctly, I'll be cutting down the remains of the arch lips to stop catching.

I've been think quite a bit over the last couple of days about getting the wheels off and booked in to be sprayed up in Gloss Black with Purple Velvet teardrops. Whats everyone think..?

I think this updates been long awaited...but first up;

After 5 weeks and £65, I finally had the outer studs arrive for the MAMs so got those in...

Also got the back end stripped down to lower and hit a snag. Found that the out arm bush on the passenger side had split so had to replace that and got it all back together and dropped it 50mm and dropped it. Thought it had fully settled and then let the handbrake off and this happened...

So up it went again and this time once setup...

Gunna jack it back up in the morning and have a look into spacers so I get stanced perfect. Going to get the front end lowered so it sits level.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks Matt Smile

Bit of an update...had a 10mm gap between the arch lip and tyre wall so did this.

Before I started the proceedings;

5mm shims added and bam..!

Also dropped the front down 15mm and is now sitting like this;

Yes.... It's almost there Smile . Front end needs to come down more to match the rear, what you thinking? Do-able? Side bump strips need colour coding aswell I think. Rear height looks spot on though, nice work.

Yeh I know what you mean, I'll drop it down a wee bit more tomorrow but only problem is I've got the adjusters only just touching the sidewalls now :/ I might try and get some 5mm shims just to set them out a bit to help with the clearing.

See how it looks tomorrow once I've stuck the GT lips on it.

Have been contemplating getting the leather side strips off and getting a set of colour coded up to match the car. Need to find a cheap set now.

EDIT:

Speaking of front end drop etc, I've just been out and as a temporary measure I've fitted the GT arches to the Sport wings using double sided tape. Will be fixing correctly at a later date and this is how the car looks and sits...

and a front view...

I will have a better look at the adjustment etc in the morning and see if I can go any lower.
