After quite a fair bit of umm'ing and arr'ing I decided I hated the centre console with a passion as it just didn't turn out very good so ripped off all the suede and have started to rub it back to down the bare plastic.

Top section is gunna take quite a while longer as there is soo much glue on it.

So far I'm taking it back down to the bare plastic with some 40 grit paper. Once that's done I'll start finishing the plastic with like various other grits i.e. 180, 320, 500.

Once it's all prep'd up etc I'll get a couple of coats of plastic filler primer on it, plastic grey primer, colour (not decided if I want to colour code it or Gloss Black again) and then laquer.

I've also order the boss kit for this car so that should be here within the next couple of days so I can get it fitted and laugh at just how tiny the steering looks in the car lol.

All suggestions welcome on the colour.

I do understand where your coming from but if you saw the MFD surround it looks really rubbish which is the main reason why I stripped it out.

Hopefully so...I've opted for Satin Black instead of the Gloss Black as it'll look a wee bit more safisticated then chavvy, if you get what I mean.

Had quite a few parcels come through in the post today.

First up from Lodey was a set of 4 20mm spacers for OEM spec wheels Very Happy

Secondly came through my Momo Boss kit...

So off I went and got that fitted in with the steering wheel...

...but what I did notice is this;

you can still see all the metal work that's against the spin ring;

I've contacted the company that I bought the kit from to see what they say.

Also had this bad boy come through;

It's 300mm wide and it'll be going on the bonnet and across the wing, probably the passenger side.

Let me know what you think.

Does look really good Uz!

I have a great idea for the centre console. Have a look at using a dark red - sort of like the Java Red Volvo use. I think it will look really good against Moonstone. I might have a go at doing a photoshop.

I wonder why I bother with this place, 4 years and all members do is slag each other off. Even Barry Boys seems a nicer place at times...

Let me know if you get around to doing a p'shop Geoff...I'm quite interested to see what it looks like tbh as Java Red seems quite a nice colour from searching it on google.

I'm really confused with the coilovers I've got

Got the top mounts and put them on the shock bodies and I'm confused as to whether you used the top spring pan off my original shock and then fit the coilover spring pan.

There seems to be alot of play when the two are together and when i push down it hits the bottom of the thread of the shock bar and then there's a fairly large amount of thread hanging out of the top.

All help with as to what to do would be great.

Car's back up in the air.

This time to fit the coilovers on the car...gunna get the fronts done, roughly setup and then get the backs done.

Dad picked up some top mount bearing today from GSF so as soon as he got them home I built up the coilovers ready to be fitted.

I've left the coilovers in as I've heard the MOT people are a right bag of w**k when it comes to the helper springs not being in the coilovers. But they will be fully wound tight (if they're gunna be like that I don't see the point of them being in).

Update time...

Been up to have a look at the 406 Coupe and I've looked around the car and found a few things I want for the car.

Firstly...the front seats which are in pretty much mint condition except for some very minor wear on the drivers bolster. They are both have electric movement, manually adjustable lumbar support, heated and also the drivers seat has 2 position memory.

I've also taken the courtesy light setup from the 406 and used a surround I've already got for the sw and made up the completely courtesy light and map reading light package.

Going to be taking the sunvisors also from the car...these are light when the flap is open and off when the flap is down.

2 to last thing is the auto dimming rear view mirror.

and finally the wheels from the car...I've got a full set of 5 6 point star BBS' which are 7Jx16" ET12. Got something in mind for them once they are home.

Let me know what you think Smile

I do still have the Nimrods but they will be more for shows and summer and the 406 coupe wheels will be kept for my daily/winter wheels.

Cheers mate...i've had since the start of this project 7 sets. 5 of which I still have lol

Coilovers are going on as soon as my dad's back from work as I can't do it myself.

Plans for the wheels will be kept a secret...only thing is that they will be my winter wheels and again like my nimrods have a smooth centre.
