Passenger side coilover went in today...we've had some problems getting them wishbone balljoint out of the job of the drivers side so were going to try and get that out tomorrow. No matter how much we lever it it'll go down by a certain amount and then just stop.

 


As you can see in this picture I've wound the springs up a little bit...there's still loads to go to get it to the height I want it at.

drop it all the way Smile the ball joints can be little feckers to get out sometimes

Get the engine in, that's the only useful thing apart from the Brembos Wink
Also, you still got the spacers I sold you? If you're not using them can I buy them back?

It's not going down all the way...I've got the spring wound up by 70mm...still got another 20mm to go down.

I'd love to fit the v6 engine but that's never gunna happen.

I do still have the spacers but I am going to be using them on the other 206 with the Comps. Still need to buy a pair for the front end.

Gunna cost too much money to have fitted, plus I need something that economical. I'm going to be buying a daily driver in September and going to be keeping this for shows etc.

Actually mate if you need the spacers soon you can have them off me as it's going to be a while before the wheels go on the car.

Update time...the mechanics been up to drop off a car after MOT and had a look at the drivers side wishbone balljoint and he's said it's most like that were gunna have to dismantle the entire suspension setup just to get the leg out.

So I need to get hold of a socket to do undo the drivers side driveshaft nut and then we can get it all stripped down and get the coilover fitted.

Not been able to do any work today as it's been chucking down with rain...it's stopped now so looking at getting something done a little later on.

Edit;

Also if you remember correctly I was going to modify and fit a set of sports arches to the car to keep the wheel once i've got offset correct within the arches.

Well I've shown my dad what I want to do and he's going to modify them for me so that they will fit correctly and look like they've not been altered.

 


the area that overhangs;
 


Basically going to cut the arch short of the grove between the arch and bumper and join the end to where it's been cut short and then blend. I'm hopefully getting a pair of sports front ones to match.

These should hopefully allow me to go out alittle more with out the worry of having the wheels sitting out of the arches.

nice one on the arches man.
thepeugeotshop never have them in, and looking at the 206 accessories brochure, the 206sw they used in that had the sports arches.

(looking at the SW in the accessories brochure, mine looked exactly like it in silver, with a gt bumper Razz )

keep it up man. several projects at once. its nice seeing them all updated within a short time apart.

Thanks mate Smile I thought seeing as I want a nice amount of poke and without having to fork out big money for the arches to be altered why not have a bash at altering the arches so they actually suited the SW without again having to fork out for a set.

Update time...

Cars now got the raceland coilovers and shortened shocks fitted. Most of the work that remained my dad did while I was at work so no during pics unfortunately. But I did come home and get the drivers side strut ajdusted to 70mm to match the passenger side.

In the morning we managed to get the drivers leg out and the proble we were having was being caused by the balljoint in the wishbone which has alot of play in it. Once my dad got the leg out we swapped over the wishbones with the original one that we had from the car which was brand new.

But now that the cars lowered I have a few problems with the front end. Firstly when I dropped the car the thread for the shock come up even further and now is sitting like this;

 


Is this the way this thread is meant to be?

 


Also when I dropped the car down to the ground I noticed the helper spring was fully compressed even though I had set it up by raising the adjuster up by 70mm. Again is this the way it's meant to be? as I'm getting no movement in the shocks meaning it's really stiff.

But otherwise car needs to come down ALOT MORE! Even though it's on the 14" steels I've got a hell of alot of arch gap Sad

If anyone can help that would be great Smile But otherwise the fitting of the coilovers was really easy. I think it might be a case of getting someone to adjust the rear beam for me once I've got the Nimrods fitted with the tyres.

Mine was like that to, it's the way it's supposed to be.
with the helper spring on the suspension feels soft and not right at all!
I have removed it, and the suspension feels so much better.
it feels stiffer and it feels like it's following the ground.

Thats fine then...I'll be keeping the helper springs in as I'm not going to be going low enough for them to be causing the car to still be too high.

Only problem is that length of thread that is sticking out of the top of the top mounts.

Been looking at how to get this boss to look alot more pleasing to the eye. So had a look at the cowling from the GT we had which is a completely different shape. Once i had it built up and the cowling next to it I found that the boss kit fits nicely into the surround so I need to chop the two of the cowling up, multiplexed and preplexed and create one cowling which is alot longer to accomodate the boss kit.

 


Me and my dad are going to be looking into how we are going to be doing this correctly tomorrow. Also going to be getting the wiring setup sorted on the horn as it needs to be dual contacted. Final gunna be looking at the arches aswell.

Front End Rack Anyone???

 


I don't think you can make it out in the pic...but the front end is down 70mm. Still got a long way to go as I can still get my blackberry under the sill sideways with enough room to put 3 fingers in aswell.

I've order a brand new set of headlight protectors for the Masked Valeos to stop them from getting them damaged.

Just fitted the 205 GTi wheels on here as thought I'd see what the wheels would look like on the SW. Fitted them with the 20mm spacers so they are sitting at ET-5.

 


 


 


But as you can see the wheels are still swamped within the arches...I'm think I might need a set of 17 even if I'm going down to approx 100mm.
