Hi everyone!

Been a while since I've shown my face around here but it's good to be back Wink

I've got the dreaded MOT in march and I had an advisory note last time that the offside side repeater is discoloured. I tried to get the dome shaped cover off which I did but now it won't go back on!! Do they have to be glued or should it just push back on? I've tried just pushing it back on but it's not catching and won't stay on.

Any help is much appreciated!

Laura

do you mean the lens wont go on the bulb holder? if so just line the gaps up, push it on and twist it

if you mean the thing wont stay on the wing, it should just be held on by a spring clip?

Push the side repeater to one side, and it just pops out.

I did this too..

You have taken the lens off whereas its supposed to come out together with the bulb-holder and white back plastic as one piece.
If the bulb and bulb-holder are still on the side, simply glue the orange
cover onto that. Don't use too much glue though and perhaps sellotape it over-night until the glue has set.

Assuming I understood correctly what you did, that's what you have to do.

I get the feeling you have broken the lens of the body of the side repeater?

Just replace it they are cheap enough Wink

Yeah thats what I have done! I will glue it back on then today. I still can't get the unit to come out but the bulb pulls out anyway without the unit being out.

Thanks for the help Smile

Bulb holder with the bulb should twist out the back of the side repeater unless its the later crystal type where the bulb is non replaceable.

Side repeater un clips from the wing in under 2 seconds to allow the bulb to be changed easily Laughing

I did exactly the same thing, the lens came off of my light when trying to remove it from the wing, the lens is bonded on and not meant to come off.
The secret is to open the door about half way, look through where the door hinges mount and you will see the light protruding through the inside of the wing, reach inside the wing with a screwdriver and press in the light unit retaining tab which butts up against the wing and should be facing you.
Whilst holding in the tab the light unit can easily be pulled out from the outside of the wing.
If it doesn't someone has put the light unit in with the retaining tab facing toward the front of the car.
When you put the light back in make sure the retaining tab is facing towards the door hinges.
