I got the same problem with the rear wiper, seems to be worst when it's cold out. Wipes 2 or 3 times then parks in the straight up position then it works OK after a few miles. Last week when it was freezing it wiped 30 or 40 times before parking. I can hear the relay switching on and off so I'm gonna try rebooting the BSI when I get the chance.

Does it only wipe once when reverse gear is selected?

Mine randomly stops half sweep and rarely parks where it should. It can wipe anywhere between 1-3 times typically but sometimes goes on and on for ages. Also recently noticed when I unlock it on the fob it will sweep a few times then as well! I had this on a previous Citroen C4 and it was a split in the wiring loom where it enters the boot. I'll check there but wondered if it was a common issue/easy fix.
