Maybe a stupid question, but how do you get your mirrors to fold electronically on the GTi 180 ?

i think you turn the wing mirror knob thingy towards the rear of the car and push

Turn the mirror adjustor so it's facing the boot! It'll be a bit stiff but just give it a good twist, you'll soon see!
