I have the indicator problem with my comm2000 unit, I plan on getting another one from the scrappies but first I need to know how to take it off and put it back on...does anyone know how to do this as there is not a 'How to' for it??? :/

D/C the battery in the correct way, take off the shroud and its pretty straight forward from there.

Thanks Lee, your a bit far away so will have to get my local mechanic to fault code it for me next week. How complicated are cars nowadays????

the general jist of it on a multiplexed car is - park car with wheels straight, disconnect battery using the BSI shutdown procedure, wait some time for airbag electrics to discharge (10-20mins), pop off airbag with a flat screwdriver (it's at the rear), take off airbag and disconnect wiring carefully, use a T50(?) torx bit and a bit of brute force to crack off the steering wheel bolt, undo wheel (being careful not to pull it towards your face at this point so leave bolt in for a few threads). at this point you can swap out the comm unit and carefully refit in reverse.

Any garage that has a EOBD/OBD-II code reader will be able to read your powertrain codes [P Codes]. It costs anything upto £60 depending on the garage [excluding dealers].
