I've wanted to lower my 206 since purchasing it, though as known there are torsion bars on the rear. I have rang 4 local garages and all have said it can't be done without replacing the bars to springs. And that it is illegal and dangerous in some circumstances, though my friends with 206's have had it done and said they had the bars 'clicked' down to match the springs on the front. any advice? I'm keen to have it done around 20MM or so.

it is all perfectly fine to get it done mate. They are just saying that as they dont want to do it due to the fact that they are uncapable to do it, or the fact that it can be a pain in the a**e sometimes.

You can pay about £70-£100 to get the whole car lowerd with you supplying the lowering springs/coilovers
