Hi I have a 206 cc 2.0 running on standard 15inch alloys. However I'm struggling to find the correct pressure. Inside the drivers door it states 2.3 bar (33psi) but due to my old gauge not working they were actually down to 28 psi (1.8bar)

I got a new gauge inflated to 33 and since the car feels like its on ice in the corners and the steering feels very light, (the tyres are on around 3-4mm of tread so not needing replacement for a few K yet)

I've since read that for my car on this size trye the pressures should be around 30 for the rear and 28 on the back?!!

It's my tyre pressure out of wack or is there something going on with the front end that needs investigation. The tracking has only been done and rechecked recently without any incidents to suggests it would be this.

Any advice would be great.

I'm going to take them down to 30psi tonight to see if anything inproves then try and get it checked by a garage tomorrow. It's very concerning but light steering is a symptom of over inflated tyres, which my GF complained of when driving it yesterday.

30-34psi all around is fine.

The reason you will be noticing a difference is because you have gone from driving with flats to pumped up tyres.

They should be 33psi, the reason you think it feels like your driving on ice is that you have under inflated tyres for so long you have got used to it.

Under inflated tyres is the quickest way to wear them out and increase you fuel cost, stick the correct pressure and you will be fine. It will be a case of getting used to it again.
