Now that I think I'm gonna replace the axle on my GT I am now wondering if the 180 axle will fit it? I've been reading some older posts and there seems to be conflicting views on whether it will or wont. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, but the exhaust will need changing if your keeping the lateral links

When you say changing what do you mean by this? Will I need a 180 exhaust or my stainless one altering? Is it just the extra tie bars? Could I just remove those for it to fit without changing the exhaust?

The exhaust on a 180 goes across the spare wheel

I wouldn't bother to be honest.
You would either need to remove the extra arms, or modify your current exhaust.
Then, depending if you have abs, preplexed you would have to swap the hubs from your old axle.
And even if you did do it, I doubt you would notice unless it was for a track car.
