doing cambelt kit on 1.4lx petrol,looking at haynes it says to remove ecu.will it cause a problem if left in place.any help appreciated thanks.

Chances are with the ECU in place you might not have enough space to access the cambelt.

i never removed the ecu when i done the cambelt on my 1.1 . once you remove the cambelt caseing. you have enough room

Tbh on a 1.4 you might not have to move it but if you find you need just move it out the way a little it's no big deal

thanks for info guys, ecu will stay put.not a big deal to move it but tamper proof fixings on mine were a pita,especially if there's no good reason to move it.hanyes book of bs for sure.
