im trying/want to bleed the cooling system as i think there could be an air lock on the rad to the left of top hose there seems to be a bleed valve but iv read the bleed valve is to the right and behind the dipstick also is it a pressured system and whats the best way to do it please

On the GTi there is a bleed screw on the thermostat housing and the heater hose. I'm sure other models will be a similar set up. Any air on the radiator will find its way into the small hose that leads to the reservoir.

Saxo electric PAS pump, Vibra Technics engine mounts. Samco coolant hoses, TTV steel flywheel, 4.76 final drive ratio, 307 CC 180 ratios. 2019 BMW 530i. 2017 Mercedes C300 convertible.

While car is cold,and engine is not running,open the valve on the heater hose,it's the one on the left while you are standing in front of the car,open it,and also open your cooler reservoir,and while you add coolant+destiled water to the reservoir,you will see the water coming out from the valve taking all the air out,and it means that you coolant system is full now :D,so close the valve,and then close the reservior cap after you reach the right level (Max.)

cheers guys i'll try it today Edward do u bleed while old also is there a bleed valve for the heater matrix
