Im building a tarmac rally/track car.
but considering ive removed most of the electricals i was wondering how hard it would be to build my own custom loom.
am i right in thinking aslongs as the engine ecu has a 12v feed then that will operate without the BSI.
if thats the case then i will remove the BSI as the electric windows, airbags, radio and sunroof have all been removed. the cars never had ABS so thats no problem.
i would have to build a new fuse board for the lights and fuel pump i know im just not sure if i can get rid of the BSI unit and still have the car operate as normal.
Any help would be great cheers

How much weight you gonna save building your own loom?
If you really wanted couldnt you just remove the now not needed wires from the original loom?

ive removed the wires its just where the roll cage fits is where the BSI mounts. i know it doesnt sound like much but ive got to move the BSI to the passenger side but with the very few plugs that are in it i might aswell get rid if i can

Does the engine ECU not run through the BSI?
