It means the airbag system needs a scan for fault codes else your just guessing what could be wrong.
It also means none of the airbags or front seatbelt pretensioners will fire in the event of an accident.

Can also manually check if you have the time
Check your battery voltage
Check the alternator isn't under or over charging
Check the wires under the front seats [if you have side airbags]
Check the orange wire in the drivers fuse box is connected
Check the wire on the rear of the drivers airbag
Check the seat belt pretentioners
Check the connections to the airbag ECU under the ashtray carpet
Check the wire to the passengers airbag
Check the COM2000 connection [if your mux]
Try rebooting the BSI. Click the link in my sig for the guide on how to do it for your specific electrical system.

So when you crash and the face of your passenger is smashed all over the dashboard...hope you've got a good explanation as to why they are dead or why their face is dis-configured

disfigured..... *edit* */edit*
But anyway, as said, this will make ALL airbags and seatbelts useless.
Get the bugger down to a garage and get the code looked at and go from there. Most places can read it for £15-20 haha
