Just went to shop and car took 4 times to start it i did wait for glow light to go off eventually started.

Got newish battery , any ideas ? please thought i was stuck there embrassing dont want that again.

just now so not really cold no ,
weird was ok this morning and after seems to start ok first time now ,
but you never know.
I know glow plugs have never been done or not since ive had it anywayz almost 4 years done loadsa milliage ,but thought hdi's dont really use them eless really cold like -4 or something ???

Was it turning over but not firing? Could be the immobilser ring or battery isn't powerful enough.

yeah but is so weird thats a one of but still wasnt fun really, thought was stuck there usually its fine.
Mabey thought dodgey fuel as put some in this morning from sainsburys lol always go to a garage like shell ,but dunno strange one seems ok at mo, but dont want it to happen again.

Definitely odd that you had to wait for the pre heat light... Mine nearly never comes on :\ I'd definitely say battery or something similar!

If you say you had to wait for the glow plug light, that would also mean that you are giving the fuel pump more time. Try checking the diesel filter and bleeding the fuel system as well.

the filter wasnt changed not long ago either about 8k miles, seems ok for now , never guna go to sainsburys for fuel again lol.
Werid because obvs got same fuel in now seems alrit for now.

Why?

Nothing wrong with Sainsburys fuel, they buy it from oil companies. It's either Shell or Texaco, can't remember which

yeah i know its probably not that, got it before was ok all s fuels all same from different places long as its not petrol that would f**k it up.
Just cant explain why it did it epscially just that once.
Newish battery and filter changed not long ago duno what else ?

Infact its BP fuel, just looked at their accounts.

Check the voltage on the battery and the alternator output.

Probably just one of them things
