i was checking everything under the bonnet a while ago as i'm due to go away tonight, went to check the windscreen wash levels and the cap disintegrated in my hand. i went to halfords and they don't stock them or anything suitable, how important is it and can i get away without one for a little while without any problems being caused?

Anyone that grudges paying £1.22 for a new part needs their head checked.
