Hi 206 owners,
I just bought my 206 Grand Tourisme on Tuesday after selling my beloved 106 GTI in yellow. I must be honest I preferred to drive the 106, but the 206 is a nicer place to be. I am growing to the 206 more though so I may go back on that comments a little down the line.
I bought the 206 on the understanding of knowing about a few problems, but they haven't been diagnosed yet.
The first thing is, the steering is very very light at 80 mph plus so haven't gone fast since?
The second thing is when changing gears, after gear in engaged and I lift my foot from the clutch there is a vibration which goes on for 2 seconds or so?
The third thing when I put my foot on the gas from 2000 revs to 4000 it makes the noise which has a similarity to a leaf being held out the window. Possibly aux belt?? It seems to be coming from the left side of the engine as if you were sitting in the car.
The fourth thing is when I steer there is a horrible noise which sounds like rubber on rubber rubbing together?
The fifth thing is horrible knocking when I go over bumps?
Apart from those 5 things I actually really like the car, and I feel once they have been sorted and I have put new brake pads and tyres on all 4 corners and given it a full service itll be a delight to drive. I shall upload some pictures of the car tomorrow or Saturday and try and keep a running progress blog of the car.
I aim to try and spec the car a little bit, but we will see how long that lasts for?
Thanks for reading
Jr Bug

welcome to the forums!
cant help you with your other problems, but number 2 is clutch judder. a common problem with 206's unfortunatly i dont think there is a fixed solution for it, some have found replacing the clutch works, others havnt lol.

MrrNoName. Thanks for telling me about the judder, has relieved me as I thought maybe a new gearbox was in store :-(, I can live with the judder, although sometimes it does a big judder through the car. Is this common? lol!
Pugsy. I havent checked power steering level, but I will check tomorrow.
Thanks for the help guys

Mine judders like hell, right through the car too. Ain't good, but at 500 notes for a new clutch and SMF conversion the shuddering can continue just now
