hey all After investingating knocking coming from drives side and you all recomending to check the Top mount bearing as i droped the Arm off the car the drive shaft fell to pieces....
this is a pic of a normal drive shaft
and whats happend to mine is
and by split i mean its in 2 pieces where circled so basicaly knuckle joint sepearated now is this right ? or should it be 1 complete unit that shouldnt fall to pieces lol
also discoverd you were all right the top mount bearing is SHOT and i mean compleatly lol.
Car in question is a 1.4 3door

how do you split?? is the rubber ok?
the shaft should move at the point you have circled

the rubber is fine but the whole nuckle has seperated from each other as one end of the rubber where the Band goes to keep it in place came off. Should they seperate or be a complete unit with hardly any movement ?

they will be able to come apart at that point pal, you can put it back together as long as the knuckle has not come apart ie the needle roller bearings of the cv joint have not fallen out. just push back together, make sure the spring is still in place and secure the boot. job done

ah thats great news then lol just have to buy some grease for it now then as looking at it someone has f****d it b4 as there was tissue inside that knuckle join.... dont ask me why because i dont have a clue why lol. thanks for ya help

might have been tissue to stop bearings falling out ???
