As all gti os seats are battered, worn and ripped. Could you not just buy a good ns seat and swap the runners?

Yes, just watch out for any side airbags in the seats

I have an early gti (2001) and it doesn't have side airbags.

What bout the seat belt plug bit - where it locks into. Or is tht connected to the runner

they are bolt onto the seat frame
