I've noticed a puddle under my car recently and investigated when the oil was changed today, its coming from the join between the end of the manifold pope and the centre section at the front of the car
Would you just use paste on this, or is it an excuse to get a stainless? I did try searching

paste will just crack over time,
if gasses are not leaking leave it,
if they are loosen off joint, move exhaust a bit (poss up a tiny bit so it level) and tighten joint back up.
used to work for me.

On occasion in the cold you would notice a petrol smell come to think of it, the puddle it leaves is clear, smells abit like egg mayo lol

Is it the flexi joint? like the one shown below:
If so, there is a flexible gasket in the joint that is made of tightly woven wire mesh. When this deteriorates over time the joint starts to leak especially when it’s cold.
A new one from pug was around £10 IIRC. Very simple fitting just undo the two bolts, replace gasket and fit new bolts.

get it to an exhaust place and they'll put a new gasket in it for a fiver

I think I will I know a good exhaust place, getting tired of being lead on by the haynes book of lies so some one else can do it lol
