just resonantly when you come to a stop i.e junction the engine cuts out ideas please doesn't happen every time

idle control valve, take it off and clean it with carb cleaner.

its the thing that tells your car where to hold the revs when you drop the clutch so if thats misbehaving the revs go all the way down and the car cuts out

on a gti its on the right of the throttle body towards the back of it. its a tubular thing attatched with two torx screws.

Exactly the same happend with mine. I had 2 sit at traffic lights with my foot slightly on the gas just 2 keep the revs at 1000rpm. Cleaned out the ICV and been fine ever since.

Has gone to the dark side!!!
