hey everyone.. didnt want to put this in the how to because its a bit short...
anyways... when i got my car, i thought id sit in it and see if the alarm sensors where working.. i sat inside very still for over 1min.. when i moved the only thing that happened was the indicators started flashing and no siren went off.. i went to peugeot and they said £66 to fix it.. so i didnt do it because i was a bit broke at the time... a few weeks passed and yesterday afternoon before going to work i opened the hood to check water levels but only opulled the latch and didnt actually open the hood.. then i remember i needed a screwdriver for something so decided to get one from my house..
when i went to remote lock the car it sudenly beeped.
somehow, having the hood unlatched and remote locking the car activated the siren again..
saved me £66.. i was pretty chuffed
i searched for ages for a way to fix this without going to peugeot.. had no luck.. so i hope this helps anyone with the same problem

Is it an aftermarket alarm as mine doesn't have bonnet sensors?

lol ian... it does sounfd like it doesnt it..lol
and no luke, its the original alarm.... mine is a preplex glx, 1999...
whats yours?
its not so much a sensor.. more like a button that operates by the weight of the hood... if ya know whati mean... ill be going to the car in a min to do a few things... ill be back with photos
