There seem to be a few types of standard spoiler, some with a gap and some without. Any idea which would have been factory fitted as an optional extra? How about this one: cgi.ebay.co.uk/PEUGEOT...2c5a1bbb6e

I did the same thing for my exhaust which had a stainless steel tailpipe with a more throaty sound (but not too noisey) and I could not prove if it added any BHP or not. I told them I wasn't going to bother fitting it but then I did it anyway. I then changed insurance company the following year. So if I say to the new company that the vehicle is how I received it from previous owner then I guess they cannot call the policy void.

I would love to know how the insurance companies work!

It's extremely foggy.

If you can pass any parts as being optional OEM extras that you wouldn't know about you would most likely have no problem. But if it's slammed on dished alloys then it's going to be a little more difficult. Either way most people have no interest or ideas about cars, yet most still have them.

mine never came with the spoiler, who would buy a new gti in Orange and not choose the spoiler i'll never know lol.

as for insurance, i did an escort up years back, exhaust, induction, front and rear lights, side skirts, rs2000 rear beam, uprated brakes etc, etc.
And somebody hit the front. this is back when angeleyes were over £200. Luckily he paid cash. But after that i declared mods and i wished i hadnt. for being honest it went from £600 a year fully comp to over £1000!!!
(1.6 escort finesse) Surprised
But if you dont and you claim after an accident off either persons insurance you will only get standard parts back.

Life's for living....
