My mechanic friend looked at my rear suspension today and said I might need a new rear axel. He's Turkish and doesn't speak very good English, from what I could understand my bushes are knackared and my axel bearings are worn aswell.
I phoned my local motor spares shop who said they didn't low what axel bearings are and said I must mean wheel bearings, is this right?
Thanks for your time

Wheel bearings are completely different from Axle bushes/bearing
Wheel bearning is easy to do, Axle bearing/bushes is a bit complicated
I think you friend meant Axle bushes/bearing, Go and ask him again, is it wheel bearing or the axle bearing/bushes

no.
axle bearing is on the trailing arm, one outer bearing and one inner bearing, plus oil seal as well.
bush i presume you mean the 4 rubber bush between the axle membrane and the chasie.
wheel bearing are on the hubs.
phone the pug dealer and they will give you the right parts

Thanks for the quick replies, is it an easy job to replace the bush, axel bearings and oil seals? Is there anything else worth replacing while i'm at it?
Thanks again
