Any ideas?

I know how to remove the steering wheel, I just need to know how to go about changing my broken spool.

Cheers.

It's a wire from the horn/airbag.

Remove the steering wheel by turning it 1/4 and looking behind it, there will be a hole on each side.
2002 onwards the airbag is clipped on and you poke a screwdriver in and give it a wiggle.
Earlier airbags are bolted on. Can't remember what size bolts are though.

Right, so.

As I removed my steering wheel before, this snapped off.

So I've had to buy a whole new loom, one of these.

and just wondered how I go about changing it

I did one of these few years ago,
go into the wiring near the fuse box under the steering wheel, unplug the two connection's undo the two bolts and it then pull slowly upwards pulling the cables through the centre part of the steering rack. Smile

Well, after reading your post, I had no idea what you were going on about.

But once I got the fuse box cover off I knew exactly what you meant.

Cheers for this now I have my horn back my car should now pass it's MOT...in November Laughing
