Bit confused here... got a new stereo the other day and its been a pain to work because of all this multiplexed wiring... so now it turns on and off with the ignition as i hooked it up to the ignition live ciggy ligher wire. But it wont save any radio presets ect and also the top screen(ppt40) doesn't light? i can see there's the date, time ect on there but the its really dim and the bulbs dont work?

Any ideas?

Thanks

on the back of the stereo there's a red and yellow plug......connect the live power to the yellow connection, that should sort out the memory probably, buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut the probably with the top screen in baffeling....perhaps you blew a fuse of pulled the connection loose or as theyre prone to go, its donkey dead......

I dont think it's a fuse problem, they stated it was on, but very dim. Which is a common problem.
Try gently pushing the screen surround. Do they come on brighter? If so, all you need to do is take off the panel and twist the bulbs back into place. Simple.
