Is there a proper way of topping up the power steering fluid because i had a mate check my car and said that mine just needs topping up as I wasn't aware you have to have the engine running when you check the level, he went on to say how to top it up and it confused me lol

Have it running, tap the cap off the power steering pump, then on it is a marking on the stick on the lid, which it should reach when the lid is on, and fill it up and just checking it, it's just like checking your oil. Just don't over fill it, or it will come out round the lid Smile I know this from personal experience Smile

Also remember there are 2 sets of readings on the dipstick under the cap.

1 for cold fluid & another for hot fluid, use the correct one!
