Car type in my Sig.
At the moment the problem seems to be in 2nd, 3rd and 4th, if i accelerate fast the car will accelerate for a second to about 2.5 revs on the counter then the car stops accelerating and revs like it's not in gear.
The gear stays in place, however could it be a clutch issue as i've had clutch judder for a while...?
Got a feeling this could be costly...

I can't see your car type as it's not showing a sig. It could well be a clutch issue yes, if you stop pressing the accelerator does it start moving again?
If the answer is yes, your clutch is buggered.

Where's your sig?
Do you not have a problem setting off from stationary? Could be a gearbox issue.

Haha yeah my bad :L must of done that by accident
When i stop accelerating the revs drop back down and the gear reingages ot the clutch disengages depending on the problem ...
EDIT - Think your sig doesn't appear in you're thread opening post...?

Oh so you mean it actally pops out of gear? Or does it just feel like it? If you slowly lower the revs does the car slowly start moving again?

What happens if you accelerate in a normal manner?

It will still do it the majority of the time, only accelerating faster seems to exaggerate it and it will happen lower on the revs. I would have to be accelerating quite slow for it not to happen.

Yeah, sounds like a worn clutch. Had the same problem on mine. Cost around £230 for parts and fitting, However, I got a Sachs racing clutch, which was more expensive.
Bad news mate, it will only continue to deteriorate until you change it.
Good news is you'll really notice the difference when you do

Cheers boys, kinda glad it is the clutch as i already knew that would need doing eventually with the clutch judder and stuff whereas if the gearbox had gone as well i would of been screwed! :L I know someone who's a manager at a car parts supplies place so they get me 50% off parts so shouldn't be too steep for me! Still lucky payday was today though!! haha

by the sounds of it the car needs a new clutch and it also sounds like it is going into what is known as limp home mode its when a car's ecu knows that there is a problem and wont let it go too high in revs it sounds like this as you said it wont go over 2.5 revs
hope this helps
