Hello all,

I'm new to the peugeot scene, had a variant of different cars in the past, from turbos to v8's but wanted a capable and reliable track car, was originally looking at Clio 182's but fancied being a bit different then come across the Gti 180's.

Spent a few months and a few wasted views looking for a half decent one when I came across this decent Aegean Blue 180. Seemed good enough and was close enough so I brought it, it needed some love but overall was ok.

So plan to start with was to get it back up to a decent standard, changed rear lights back to standard, fix the rear boot lock, etc

Thanks everyone, done quite a bit to it over the last 3 months since I brought it,
changed the rear lights back to standard,
removed all interior,
added 2 bucket seats,
Removed door cards and made replacement blanks
Neaten up all wiring
6point fia approved harnesses,
safety devices cage ( which is actually getting fitted this week)
rear anti roll bar,
gas coilovers,
15" track wheels and ad08r tyres,
yellow stuff pads all round,
5.1 brake fluid and drained out all old fluid, ducts to cool front brakes as found they fade under constant breaking while on track
Looking at fitting a 19 row oil cooler when back from getting cage fitted

The 138 Gti I used for one track day, decided I loved it but needed a 180, so sold on eBay and replaced with the 180 when a nice one came up Smile

There's my cage all ready to go, hopefully that's in by the end of the week as at Bedford autodrome on Saturday!

Looks very tidy!! But is true what Edward said as well as cooling efficiency through that SP grille as per my concern here: www.206info.co.uk/Foru...tml#653095

But probably you want to keep balance between looks and tracks Wink

Will definitely be interested in your lap times and how they improve in months to come! Very Happy

That was Gaz Wink

And I am busy reading up on it and drawing more ideas.

I start to understand what Gazza was saying and I do agree with him. Hence I am going to make a custom shroud likely which covers most of the bay (even more than the current one). Still thinking and learning on the best way to do it.

Also want to make a duct from the front to the inlet; to provide additional cooling directly on the inlet itself.

Has it got one of those clamp on rear ARBs on it?

The deflectors came on the car but is nice to have the windows cracked open while on track, as I believe your not supposed to have windows open while on track.

At present it's a hobby track car and I've only done 2 track days in it, I am trying new things as I go, my most recent add was the brake ducts as first time I used it I noticed the fade as they got up in temps.

Yeah it had a white line clamp on rear arb .

Get plastic windows with the slides you can open. Also takes weight down, as glass is heavy. Poly carbs are about 70 quid I believe.
