was coming home from uni tonight, and the car started to all of a sudden jerk like it was in the wrong gear, no to violently, but u knew it was happening. like a small kick.
only uphil it seems to be happening.
i was doing 30mph up hill in 4th, so i moved it to 3rd and it still did it.
any ideas?

shift to 2nd gear..the car happens to curise quite well at 1800 rpm in 4th. usually kicking around 2100 when uphill. its not a like..massive hill, just a long gradual. but it was doing it uphill...on all hills. never happened before...

Seriously I have the same car as you, you needed second gear. You probably always put too much strain on your engine by doing it in 4th and you've f****d it.

people need to learn how to use gear.
run around with unnessarily low gear will do no good to mpg as well as the engine.

well ive never needed 2nd for this particular hill. i drive it 5 days a week. and the judderin starts halfway up the hill! so i doubt its a case of bad driving. if it was the wrong gear the revs would be struggling no...and i dont have to move my foot at all on the accelerator.

If it's something that's just happened, I'd be inclined to get it read by diagnostic equipment - whether a light appears on the dash, or not.

As above if your in doubt get a diagnostic done but honestly before doing that go back to said hill and try it in 2nd and see how you get on!
