Wanting to paint my fuel cap, got an aftermarket GT style metal one. What black paint do you think would be best as in what type?

No seriously, im new to this. I know spray paint but what types the best to use? How many coats?

use a primer after keying the surface etc then normal car spray paint and some good lacquer!

I done mine, you will get the best quality by sanding thoroughly with 600ish grade sandpaper, then 3 light coats of etch primer, dry sand with 1000 grade, 3 or 4 light coats of colour (halfords can will do) sanding 2000 grit inbetween coats that have been allowed to fully dry, then 3 coats of lacquer, 2000 grit on the final outcome and use a good polish

If you want a plain glossy black use hammerite smooth in spray form. Its good stuff and you don't need to primer or anything. Thats the easy and idiot proof way
