Im seriously considering getting an XSI now. Just wondering what sort of problems Im likely to encounter from one? Who's got one? Anything major gone wrong with it? Or are you all going to come out and say its a great car and I should just go buy one and not worry at all?

Im sure they cant be any worse than my current 1.4 LX

Shut it u stupid little f**k, what's the point in posting in all my treads being such a c***? Least I can afford a gti180, and to get the cam belt done!

So apparently everyone knows my financial situation? If I wanted a 180 I would have bought a 180 simples Smile

The garage
2003 - 206 GTi 138 - Moonstone Blue
2003 - 406 Coupé 2.2 HDi SE - Hyperion Blue
2000 - 206 2L HDi D-Turbo ECO - Cherry Red
1999 - 306 GTi-6 - Blue (haven't worked out if it's Nile or China yet)
1987 - 205 GTi 1.9 - Graphite Gray

I must be mad.....

If you press the horn and brake at the same time it will blow up!

Haha, seriously though, any common faults on them? Like the 1.4 gearboxes giving up religiously?

I've heard the button next to the handbrake is an ejector button...that or for the alarm. Not too sure, one of the two. Never really chanced trying it, don't wanna wake the neighbours up.

Had mine for a while now and no major problem's, But every car is different and it's how it's treated and cared for that will determine what sort of car it is.

I had a moonstone one got it with 29000 miles in it had it 4 years and apart from servicing and discs and pads the only thing that ever broke on it was a O2 sensor. Sold it at 98000 miles and I still see it about every now and again.

Had 3 different ones and never ever had the problem. Oil change every 5000 miles and keeping on top of everything as you as it appears which was like once in a blue moon and the cars never missed a beat. Everyone would pass the mot without an advisory.

Not 100% but isn't y reg to old to be a xsi is it not an xs?

Had mine for almost a year and a half now and ive had no problems at all only an electrical issue but that was down to a dodgy tracker no fault of the car but as said it depends on how the car has been treated before.
PM me for Valeting & Detailing services at great rates!

If its a petrol XSI it will have the same MA type of gearbox as your 1.4

If its the HDI powered version it will be a BE gearbox.

There isnt anything wrong with a MA gearbox if its used correctly Wink
