can anyone tell me what`s the purpose of the small rubber pipe that sits in the bottom left of the radiator near the alternator and water pump,i put my car on the ramp this aft to examine a split in the top of it and found it`s just basically an inch rubber hose with a blocked end(a bit like a bung)with a jubilee clip on it,it does`not lead anywhere,im`e of the opinion that it`s some kind of venting point and somewhere along the line it`s been bodged by blocking it up ??

Near the water pump and alternator??? You got any pictures? It sounds a bit unusual if it's coming from the radiator.
