Right guys, I'm fed up with this fecking rattle. It's coming from the passenger side pillar/door area..

I'v stripped it out 5 times trying to find it with no luck. Every stupid thing has deadening on it. So can someone give me ideas on where to look?

It's basically coming from where the door meets the pillar but I really have no idea where to look now..

Yes, I know it's a 206 and it rattles like a b***h but yesterday, went for a drive at 10PM just after it had rained and the car was so quiet, I would have thought I was in the Audi.. bar that stupid rattle every few seconds!

Cheers for any input in advance Smile

Have a look at door lock mount(hook)on pillar.it happens when door locks too tight.loosen 2 screws and push it 1 or 2 mm's outward then tighten them.

Already tried that but I'll try again.

It's a new one on the passenger side and the noise is definitely not coming from there.

Replace the boot latch, the rubber stop gets worn with age and rattles like a pig.

Look at the latch and look where the lock meets it.

This is very useful. I'm not sure about the latter posts on stops, but I had the same intensely annoying knocking rattle around the door latch/catch pillar area.

I changed the check strap, as that had slight play in the hinge pin. It didn't resolve it, but the answer seems to have been putting insulating tape around the catch on the door pillar. As with the boot rattle previously mentioned.

Great there is so much here for reference and so many in the know.
Thanks.
