Hi all im new to the site and will be staying Honest !!!! Ive always been a 306 D Turbo guy but have now moved onto a 206 HDI TURBO SPORT as a daily runner. It came with a few probs which are all done now apart from one, the remote central locking. The key works the doors ok and engaged the alarm and of course runs the car lol. The remote part isnt doing anything and its got a new battery.

I found an online guide to programming but it didnt work, I got a new keyfob and swapped the chip with mine then followed the online guide again and still nothing.

This is the type of key that came with the car

cgi.ebay.co.uk/PEUGEOT...45fb218342

any help with programming would be great or info of what to do (garage work) would be great.

That WONT work, you cannot code a new / replacement remote keyfob to a 206 without diagnostic equipment.

Get your original keyfob, put the chip back in it, make sure the battery is ok, start the engine then press & hold the unlock button for 10 seconds to resync it.

Ok I tried that 3 times to be sure and still nothing, ive been thinking this fob may not be the original for the car or it may be faulty. Can I take it anywhere to have the fob tested to see if its sending a signal ??? Then the next step is diagnostic recode.

Id try rebooting the BSI unit first.

there's MANY Peugeot fobs that look exactly the same from the outside BUT the internals are different & not interchangeable.

There are 2 types of these multiplexed remote fobs for the 206 for example.

It is a good possibilty that it isnt the original remote fob.
