I thought that i was loosing speed from the 17" i have fitted i beleive the car has 15" steel in the garage. What i found using my Sat Nav was the speed is set faster that actual and putting bigger wheels now means the speed it says actually is the speed i am doing.

When we go past a matrix board at just over 30 it the pug it will flash up< in any other car with standard wheels we can do just about 35 before its activated but the satnav is alway saying we are going past it at 31mph

206 3dr 1.4 GLX modified slightly, Lowered 35mm on full Gmax kit, 17" AEZ xylo alloys 205/45/17, 3.5" Savage back box,

Bigger wheels higher the gearing. You may have lost some acceleration but gained slightly on top speed.

You won't gain a higher top speed because it won't be at peak power at top speed even as standard.
