Hi Everyone,

Hope you can help,

The car temp is staying at around 70 to 75 during driving and if stood idling and will slowly creep up to 90+ and then jump to the red and flash STOP the fan does not kick in. (when driving again the temp will creep back down to 70ish)

I have tested the fan by directly connecting it to the battery and it does work so have done a bit of googling and points to the coolant temp sensor. (this may not be right, feel free to provide any other issues it may be)

I have ordered a temp sensor of eBay but the guy sent one with a 2 wire connection, the one on the car is a 3 wire connection. Also the one they sent is far bigger than the one that is currently fitted. I sent this back and gave him my car reg and he says its the correct part.

Now this could me being dumb but i have read that they is 2 sensors on some cars. I have had a look and can only find the one which is located directly on top of the thermostat housing (where the top rad hose connects to the block) Is they another one hiding some where. which is the part the guy sent to me?

I have searched high and low and can not find a engine diagram that shows where the sensor(s) are located. Does anyone have a link or a picture of their engine bay detailing where the sensors are?

Any help is greatly appreciated as im starting to get a headache from the Mrs complaining at me to get it fixed now.

Many Thanks

Joe

The Part you want is on the bottom left hand side of the radiator as you look at it from the front of a car, it s a resister.

Hi Lee and Leigh_Boy,

Thanks for your replies,

They is no sensors in the radiator, unless you mean where the relays and connection sit to the fan under the black cover?

Those pictures above are different to the one they sent. I think i have found the one they sent, It is located below the thermostat and bolts directly into the engine block from what i can tell as it's a tight squeeze to get my head in there to see properly.
I did'not see this one last time round and presumbed it was just the one that sat on top of the thermostat.

Many Thanks

Joe

The Aircon coolant temp sensor - would this prevent a fully gassed aircon from not operating ? Would I see any fault codes if this is faulty ? Anyone know a stockist of these, other than Peugeot - don't want another mortgage for this part !

Thanks.

French cars - great until they fail !
