Hi guys now I've nearly finished with the exterior of the car, next in the list is lowering and engine work, I don't think I want to go down the turbo route and other that cams, throttle bodies sound great and give good gains, my car is a gti 138, can anyone recommend the best place to get them done with a remap aswell, and roughly what price I'll be looking at, thanks in advance guys and gals

Surely you'd be better to get a 180 than pay that for a throttle body conversion? Surprised

2K? WOW, that's a LOT of money!!!

I guess I just no longer understand the tuning game, being an oldie (nearly 40 years old!) I would rather just buy a Subaru Impreza WRX Sti and mildly mod it.

Onyx Black 2005 206 GTi 180, 44K miles, FSH, standard (apart from a K&N panel air filter, Angel Eyes and groovey rear & groovey front holy discs!)

I see your point but I'd rather have something that somebody expects to be slow and mildly surprised when it's not, and scooby's are clitoris cars, every c.u.n.t has one lol
Pardon the swearing Wink

I pardon you Wink I completely understand the "sleeper" concept Smile It's why my car is de-badged Wink

There are many standard cars out there that look like boring slow cars but will do 0-60 in less than 6 seconds!!!

180's are not easy to tune, the 138 is easier, I drove a 180 sTandard and wasn't too impressed, and also throttlebodies sound immense

...and cost far more to insure than a standard 180 I think...

(Unless you're committing Insurance Fraud and in the event of an accident, you're highly likely to be "found out" and then you're up to your neck in Debt for the rest of your life. Probably more than 6 University Degrees.)

You mean ITB's will cost more to insure on a 138 than a standard 180? Insurance isn't an issue, I'm 27 with 8 years no claims, money isn't an issue mate Wink

Yes they will, trust me! I have done the modifying route before (when I was much younger.)

If money isn't an issue then I wish you good luck mate! Go for it!

These days, money is an issue for most of us though! (Including myself, and I'm an old man at nearly 40!)
