The cheeping noise to me sounds the same as if it was the tensioner pully if that makes sense but the tensioner pully is fine...... thought it was power steering pump as well as the noise worse when turning steering wheel but again had that checked and it fine 2!!!!! so by process of elimination i have came to air con pump!

was hoping someone else mayb had same probably at some stage and could give me bit of advice.

The aircon will make the car lose power, so don't worry about that Smile 'tis normal, kinda feels like the car hangs back for a second or two.

When you turn the aircon on, it'll make a clunk, followed by a somewhat 'gas' noise which is sometimes noticeable (Not sure if this is what your describing as cheeping?)

For the cheeping when aircon is on & turning the steering, I honestly have no idea o.O

Juat turn up and say, quick question doe s this sound right. Have them listen to it and say thanks and go to another garage and do it again.

I do it all the time and the garages i go to have seen me loads for work on my cars and just for quick questions. You'll only get fleeced if you don't ask around first.

But as said above it all sounds normal apart from the "cheeping" when turning the wheel.
