My gearbox has ruined 2nd gear. It sound like the wheel of fortune when driving in second so imlookingfor a replacement gearbox, my friend has offered me a free box of the t reg 306 2.0 8v cabriolet and I just wondered if it fits ona w reg 206 GTi.
Or is it just the GTi and cc that fits?
Any help would be good,

Neither. It has metal linkages.

80k mainly motorway miles. Good condition gets in to all gears with ease without any crunching. £70 collected. Cheers

I have a 306 gearbox in mine, only a 1.4 though, gear linkages had to be changed to a custom one and sometimes it pops out of gear, more hassle than it's worth I'm afraid

So the GTi (138) and the cc are the ones to go for then.
