I really don't appreciate that kind of language, don't be a keyboard thug please..

Seems normal tbh! You see that thing underneath your bonnet, its called an engine, it gets very hot, and heats up the surrounding areas, ,

Know that thing separating you from the engine? It's called a fire wall, and will never let heat from the engine bay get into the car. I would disagree that that situation is normal, something feels wrong about this hot plastic tube+box..

And thank you for the normal reply, finally

Haha please a keyboard thug, its standard forum language, any forum you go on will allow it!

Why dont you put on a smile?

Even tho there's a fire wall, still some heat must come in either through other objects like wires, or be coming from the wires itself!

so smiles all around Smile

and about my car - the hot plastic box with the tube attached.. I really tend to think it's not supposed to be that way.. will go to my mechanic as soon as i can.

It is safe to assume that there is something wrong with your heater box, On the right hand side of the black box there is some servo motors. One controls the heat/cold flap inside your heater box. If you have manual controls there is a wire similar to a throttle cable going to the same locations. You may need to push your seats right back to gain enough access. A mirror is also useful.
On the left of the heater box the is two black pipes..... these are always hot so dont bother with a mechanic if this is what you mean.

Yeh thats exactly the pipes I was talking about! thanks for the clarification! now i know they need to be hot..
about the heater box - is that the box which is connected to these two pipes? because this plastic box is as hot as the pipes, also the flap which is used to swich from hot to cold air is working perfectly, and i get warm\cool air when turning the knob.
I'v added two pictures showing the hot pipe and box

first picture describes where the box is (located behind the console, approached from the side of the console where plastic part end).
second picture self explanatory.

Allrighty then! good news Smile
guess I'v started to notice it since it started to become hotter outside and am wearing short pants.... Wink
i guess this isn't much of an issue in right handed cars as yours, think i'll try to wrap it in some sort of an isolator or something..

Many thanks Smile
