I have heard that spax are a hard setup though, I kind of like a firm suspension setup if I'm honest, if it's soft it doesn't make me think it's sporty and would handle well. |
it is easy to setup the suspension to have "hard" ride without changing the spring

Okay to be fair my shocks are on the hardest setting and the coilovers on the front are wound down almost max i should be expecting a solid ride.

B14's are way overpriced. Anything from KW/Weitec/AP are supposed to be very good, the only ones I've tried out of those are KW's and I was very impressed.

I suppose the word i was looking for is 'firm'

You guys do know that it's the springs that affect the ride, you can probably get softer springs if you really want....

It's the spring that denotes how stiff the ride itself is for the most part, the dampers really only come into play when they're being properly compressed.
Springs are measured by poundage, for example I have 425 fitted on the front of my car and 475 on the rear, fitting a lower poundage spring will give you a softer ride. It's how much is required to compress the spring by 1 inch.
So a 100lb spring will require 100lbs to compress it by an inch, a 400lb spring, will require, surprise surprise, 400lbs to compress it one inch! Hence why lower poundage springs are softer as they compress much easier.

this is true.
however a weak spring with a hard damper will give you a very stiff ride too.

KW Variant 1 are same price or slightly higher than B14....
