Hi, just signed up as I'm having misfire problems on my 04 206 sw 1.4 8v.

I've had a search and read a lot of threads on here as I know how annoying it can be new users coming on forums and asking basic questions without searching :).

The story so far.. my 206 started to misfire intermittently, got my mate at a local garage to do a diagnostic for me, which said injector misfire (don't have the code) but did not specify which one. He said it could be a number of things, wiring, coil pack etc.

So far, I've changed the NGK plugs in it :S for bosch, and just been out today and replaced the original sagem coil pack and it's made no difference.

What's next on the list?

Coil pack is normally the issue on a misfire but can be anything really, no faults at all? As already said, injector, coil pack, sparks, NGK are a bad plug to put in iirc.
Don't argue the opinions of idiots.

Peugeot / Citroen part number 6555 K9 Condensor £5.29

One end splices in to pin 4 of the coil pack connector.

The other end goes to engine earth.

Also check the washer jets on the bonnet aint dripping down as they can damage the injectors Wink

04 plate car is EOBD, you can get a scanner to read engine faults for around £20 if you look in the right place, the 16 pin diagnostic port is behind trim to drivers right knee, turn plastic screw with a coin then lift up / unclip the door.

You anywhere near Shefield? Lee on here has Peugeot Planet diagnostic kit Wink

I know Jarad / PugJH had injector 4 go down on his TU1 206 thanks to a leaky washer jet.

FYI: Cylinder 1 is the gearbox end on a TU lump, Peugeot like to do things back to front Laughing

Ive not had any injector issues on my TU3 but mine has the bonnet soundproofing retrofitted so that stops any drips.

It did have a fault code, am sure it said injector misfire, but did not list a specific injector. Maybe I'll go get him to read it again as he cleared it last time.

I do have the little earth mod on it already by the looks.

I have had a look and can't see any sign of water leaking onto the injector?

Just drove home and the car was missing worse than on the old sagem coil pack, drove to the garage they scanned it, but only came up with p0200 intermittent misfire. Mechanic also said the coil pack I bought was sh*t and to take it back.

Think it's likely the sagem coil pack was on it's way out and the new one is also faulty?

It could be faulty you never know. Check the o2 sensor wires just under the CAT. Mine broke and it somehow made it run on 2 cylinders.

Take the injectors out and put a towel or something in front of them. Turn the car over and make sure an equal amount of fuel is coming out of each cylinder and make sure its consistent.

Took the new coil pack back and said it's faulty, bought another from somewhere else and still misfiring, guess injectors are next?
Checked wiring on lambda btw, looked fine.

Is the engine management light on?

Should be a fault code stored at least.

Cylinder 1 is the gearbox end when you find out which pot is missing.
