Hi,

This is my first message on the forum... My 2004 206 XSi HDi is equipped with digital climate control. Everything works perfectly until this week I noticed the 'Automatic Visibility Button' (the one you hit to quickly demist the front screen) has stopped working. Sad The front demist icon is displayed on the screen (so not a dead button), but the system behaves as if it remains in 'auto' mode. My fan works perfectly (can speed it up or slow it down manually - or via auto), and my temp gets nice and hot or cold as required. Before I approach the local Peugeot garage, I'm interest to know whether anyone else has had this issue, as it's confusing me. Only a little niggle, but that demist button is really handy.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

James

So there's no air going up to the front screen even with fan on high?
Realistically it could be
No command being received from the CC panel to the flap motor
Motor not functioning
Divertor flap jammed
Feedback voltage from flap position sensor not being received

First easy step might be to force a recalibration of the CC to divertor flap motor by disconnecting the car battery for an hour and then reconnecting

Hi Deckchair5. Thanks for the advice.
It's a bit strange. The system is able to blow air to the windscreen if I manually set the demist to screen and manually increase the fan speed (a few button presses). So on the face of it, all the hardware works, leading me to suspect the software. It's just the single hit 'demist' button which no longer activates "flap to screen" + "fan to fast", which was really useful.
You might be right when you suggest a CC recalibration by battery disconnect.
