Hi I have a 206cc 2004 1.6, when I stop with the car facing down hill, as the car finally comes to a rest ,there is a creaking noise which sounds like it is coming from the front. It does not happen when the car is either stopping on level ground or facing uphill. Any ideas ?

Weight transfer affecting the suspension in a slightly different way than it would on level ground. Things that could be creaking are:
Front suspension wishbone bushes
Front ARB mounting bushes
Brakes themselves
Rear beam bearings
Unless it's a real issue and occurs more often during braking other than downhill, I would just turn the radio up.

| Handy with a spanner
Fairly clued up on 205's; once wrote a pretty good rear beam refurb guide. | |
