Well I thought I would do a little tribute thread to my Gti that I loved, I bought her about 4 years ago for £2800 with 46000ish miles on the clock, the first 3 years she was just left as I bought her, then I found info and the bug kicked in, here she is as I bought her

Refurbed alloys

The sp grill and alloys were on when I bought it, she was off the road for 8 months and in feb this year I spent a mini fortune getting her back on the road, 4 new tyres, new discs and pads all round, had the alloys refurbed and a few other little things, she passed the mot with 1 advisory, front springs slightly corroded so all in all not too bad, first mod was getting some black masked valeos and the fog lights masked and also black side repeaters

Then an sp bonnet vent

Then the standard exhaust that got put on in feb started rattling, the baffles inside the centre silencer were loose so a trip to mr tyres in Coventry and £320 later i had a Powerflow cat-back on which sounded great, I asked for a mild to mod sport sound as I didn't want something too loud

Video of exhaust

Then I fitted a splitter, I think it was an old megane one

Then it had it's first Claying from me and a mighty good clean

Next up was new led rear lights and smoked led 3rd brake light with matching fog

After I fitted the lights I took a 2 hour drive to Manchester to pick up some pearl black vortex's and some sp arches

The day after the above pics were took I was on my way to work and lost control on newly laid gravel and ended up in a ditch

When I arrived home from the crash these had arrived in the post to rub salt into my wounds lol

She's on stilts now and pretty much completely stripped of everything, I removed the battery about a month ago but decided to attach it back up today to see of the old gal would still start, well here's the Vid you can see for yourself how she did, as much as I like my black 180 the silver Gti was the first car I ever slightly modded and will always be missed

Thanks for reading,frankie

I think there's too much damage to think about tracking this, I'd have to get another shell and buy almost new panels everywhere, the engine was and still is a good runner, it's the perks of having a step-dad who is a mechanic and master tech for Peugeot Wink
I would ideally like to see the engine go to a good home but like you said it didn't even hesitate to start which actually amazed me considering how long it's been sitting there along with the front end damage, it's relatively low miles for an 02 reg aswell, it had only done 69500 miles ish

Yeah steering wheel and comms will be sold next I think, unless a 206 comes up for £300 like it did the other week on here, if I'd have seen it soon enough I'd have snapped it up and used it to make a track car with my Gti engine

Cheers Matt she certainly was, and yeah if a cheap donor car comes up I think tracking it would be a nice farewell to the Gti and the engine will live on

Don't argue the opinions of idiots.

The engine is ok Seb I'd say it needs a new radiator and fan from the damage but other than that it was running sweet as before the crash and still starts and runs fine now, and cheers Michael I'd just got it looking how I wanted, heres the 180 that I bought after the crash and has took me 6-7 weeks to look how I want, when I picked it up it looked like this

And how it is now, after a few sp goodies and a janspeed cat back
